Tax Appeals

Are your property taxes too high?  Everyone complains about property taxes in New Jersey , but is there anything that can be done about them?  Real estate taxes are based on the assessed value of the real estate: the higher the assessment, the higher the tax.  Due to the current real estate market, the assessment on your house may be well above the fair market value of your property.

You should have received your Notice of Property Tax Assessment for tax year 2012.   This comes by postcard sent to you by your town.   The filing deadline to challenge your 2012 assessment is April 1, 2012. Your appeal must be filed by that date or your opportunity to appeal will be lost for this year.

We work closely with qualified real estate professionals to obtain reductions when municipal tax assessments do not reflect fair market value.  Under the circumstances, we strongly recommend that homeowners review their present assessment with us to determine whether a 2012 tax appeal is appropriate.

Our legal fee is contingent on the outcome of the appeal; if we do not reduce your real estate taxes, no legal fee is due.  If you desire an hourly legal fee, we can arrange one. We urge you to call or email at the earliest possible time to obtain a FREE REVIEW of your real estate tax assessment and advice as to whether it can be reduced.

Time is running out!
